Heroes of the Heart #3 ~4/18/09~

So here it is folks, the 3rd and final aspect of the "Unfashionable Heroes-of-the-Heart" series. This one may in fact be my favorite, bearing the brazen title of "The Un-Popularly Epic Hero-of-the-Heart Madcap, Braving the Terrific, Flying Jet-Cycle". Maybe one of these days, I'll make some sort of story to go with these guys... for now, you'll have to use your imagination. Also, this week, I finished my illustration degree project. Stay tuned for this and other work to be posted soon.

Heroes of the Heart #2 ~4/17/08~

Here's installment #2 for the "Unfashionable Heroes-of-the-Heart" series. This one, as previously mentioned, is called "The Clumsily Courageous Hero-of-the-Heart Doctor Swamp Rescue". I'm so pumped about these! They're just funny. Maybe I'll eventually think of a story to go with them, because they kind of have that feel to them. I'm making them with the idea of being a noble person in mind. This comes from my faith in Jesus: that the best people who do the best things (heroes) are always normal people who make extraordinary decisions; more often then not, the world views them as unpopular, lame, annoying, or just boring. But from an eternal perspective, such people are admirable and precious. And I love these people, Jesus was one (and so much more)... and it's my goal to live like that every day.

Heroes of the Heart #1 ~4/1/08~

This is the first installment of a 3-piece series (a tryptic). I calling these guys the "Unfashionable Heroes-of-the-Heart". I dunno where I thought of this; each of them was just a random scribble in a sketchbook. But now they've become something else. Something hilarious. This guy's name is "The Un-stylishly Friendly Hero-of-the-Heart Guitarist". Soon to follow: "The Clumsily Courageous Hero-of-the-Heart Doctor Swamp Rescue" and "The Unpopularly Epic Hero-of-the-Heart Madcap, Braving the Terrific, Flying Jet-Cycle".`

Birdies and Elephants! ~4/1/08~

I had so much fun with this. In this class that I'm in, where we work with art directors and get assigned freelance jobs, we had to design a repeatable pattern for gift wrap. This project was so much fun! If anyone wants to see more variations of these designs, please just e-mail me... I got a bit carried away with this one and made a bunch of variations. And I'm looking forward to making more!
