I'm in the middle of this big Degree Project for graduating from college. This is piece #1. My idea is to somehow take little blips of wisdom, which I've been finding in the work of several abstract artists, and put them into illustrations. The pieces are inspired by short quotes, which are taken from the words and writings of artists like Jackson Pollock, Makoto Fujimura, and Clyfford Still (if you haven't heard of these guys, google them, they're really cool). Each little proverb is portrayed as a different member of a small group of friends, artists, members of the Christian fellowship at massart. I'm one of them, so the first piece is a self-portrait, illustrating these words from Jackson Pollock: "There is no accident."Degree Project # 1 ~3/27/08~
