I'm going to Miami! My awesome business partner and co-collaborator Mary Huckstep has been working tirelessly to promote our recent book, Mary Mary Quite: On Raising Children (And Other Mind-Altering Substances). And her efforts have paid off! The book has won a number of awards, including one that I'm particularly proud of: the gold illustration award at Reader's Favorite! They have a page set up for our book here -- check it out! There's a brilliant review by Cheryl E. Rodriguez and a silver medal for non-fiction humor as well. The award ceremony is in Miami. Mary and I will both be there. We'll be further promoting the book of course, in part by handing out the above postcard that I designed during a snow day off of work (still teaching art and loving it!). And if you're in the area, we'll also be having a book signing a local bookstore called "The Bible Emporium" on Saturday, November 21st.
P.S. This is my first illustration award and I'm pumped. If you see me, buy me a dirty chai (that's a chai tea latte with a shot of espresso) -- it's my favorite drink and a fitting congratulations. :-)
